In August 2008 we became the new owners of Little Pittaford Cottage and we are proud to offer visitors a chance to enjoy a wonderful holiday in this beautiful part of the South Hams. We have lived in the area for seven years, having escaped from the south east of England to find a slower pace of life for our family. We love it here and continue to revel in the beautiful countryside and coastline, even when it’s raining! There is a special quality about the light on the sea here, and on the freshwater lagoon of Slapton Ley – the scenery changes with the seasons and is always a joy to see. The jet black night sky above the cottage is fantastic for star-gazing and sometimes the light from Start Point lighthouse can be seen flashing across the hilltop!

Our enthusiasm for our home and for the area is reflected in the care and consideration that we show to our guests. The Cottage is part of a small barn conversion, managed and maintained by us to the highest standard, with comfortable furniture, stylish décor and top quality bed linen and furnishings. A welcome pack to include milk, tea, coffee and warm home baked bread will be ready for your arrival, together with your choice of either a bottle of wine or a homemade cream tea. We can supply other provisions for the start of your holiday if you wish – a useful facility, especially after a long journey. A range of complimentary toiletries will be provided for our guests.

We will be on hand, should you need us, for advice or help and we can happily recommend great places to eat, how to find all the best beaches and all the other insider information that you can’t normally find in a tourist guide!

The Cottage is centrally heated by radiators with an additional electric convector heater and an electrically heated towel radiator in the bathroom. Fully equipped for all your holiday needs throughout the year, the Cottage has, in addition, a hairdryer, clothes airer, iron and ironing board together with a range of books, games and DVDs. A comprehensive supply of local tourist and other information is also provided.

Free WIFI internet access is also available.

We regret that PETS can not be accommodated within Little Pittaford Cottage, however there is a small friendly kennels, The Dog Lodge, about 500 yards from the Cottage. Please contact us for further information, should you wish to use this facility. We request that guests do not smoke inside the Cottage.

CHANGE OVER DAY is Friday when the Cottage will be available from 3pm. Guests are requested to vacate by 10am.

Some mobile telephone networks can not get coverage in the Cottage. Guests are welcome to use our landline when necessary.
